{"id":1391,"date":"2023-11-07T17:19:15","date_gmt":"2023-11-07T16:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cidu.esteri.it\/attivita\/visite\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T16:12:34","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T14:12:34","slug":"visite","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cidu.esteri.it\/en\/attivita\/visite\/","title":{"rendered":"Country visits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The main international organisations promoting and protecting human rights have bodies operating in their respective headquarters (Geneva\/New York; Strasbourg; Brussels\/Vienna) which, after activating a specific formal procedure (known as a standing invitation), visit the Member State in order to assess the overall human rights situation in that Country. At the end of the Country visit, they elaborate a report which is published and disseminated. CIDU is responsible for preparing the necessary materials and for planning and coordinating these visits. At the end of each visit, it hosts a debriefing meeting at which the monitoring body expresses its initial observations, which are then reproduced in the its report.<\/p>\n<p>The most recent visits are listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11-12 April 2023 Visit to Italy by the UN Special Rapporteur on Environmental Defenders;<\/li>\n<li>18-22 September 2023 Visit to Italy by the FRA Director;<\/li>\n<li>23\u201327 October 2023.
