Law No. 80 of 19 March 1999 requires the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to submit a yearly report to Parliament on the activities of CIDU and the situation of fundamental rights in Italy. The report is intended to summarise the several engagements undertaken by our Country during the reference period, i.e. the calendar year under consideration, in accordance with its compliance with the main international Conventions on human rights, the management of which falls within the remit of CIDU.
This report is an important tool for understanding how these Conventions are being implemented in our Country and provides a valuable momentum for the continuous adaptation and improvement of the domestic legislation in this area.
